9pm: Lotshiwe Tshabalala

Lotshiwe Tshabalala is an independent soul and reggae artist based in Pietermaritzburg. Her lov e for music is indescribable; music is everything.

Her musical journe y started at a very young age. She sang in church and school choirs, and de cided to learn the guitar at the age of 19. She has since had the opportuni ty to perform at many venues across KZN, including markets, festivals, and even the Conversing Kingdoms One Woman Poetry Show by Luleka Mhlanzi. She a lso curates and organises festivals with Undivided Roots, and plays with an all-female band that promotes the magic of women. She has also worked on a n award-winning tuberculosis-awareness film with Oros Mampofu.

Lotshi we is currently working on an EP covering all the experiences she has endur ed in life through melody. She will be accompanied by Heaven Khwezi Cele on drums, Nompumelelo Zikode on bass and Rainbow Cele on keys serving up beau tiful melodies and grooves to keep you on your feet.

8pm: Kri sten

Kristen started her career as a solo performer in Obser vatory, Cape Town, in 2017 while studying classical singing at the Universi ty of Cape Town. In 2019, she moved back to her home province, KwaZulu-Nata l, where she has performed in and around the Midlands. Her most recent high lights include achieving first place at the Westville Warehouse 2023 Open M ic competition and performing at Splashy Fen Music Festival.

With COV ID-19 hitting at the beginning of 2020, Kristen started teaching music full -time and focusing more on recording her original music. She released her f irst single, On & On, in October 2022. Kristen will be accompanied by a dream team of musicians, including Jav Govender, and two of her past stude nts, Matthew Urquhart and Nikhil Darson.

7pm: Bowstring

Rebecca Webster and her dad, Charles, have been making music toge ther for nearly a decade now. They are joined by percussionist/drummer (and Rebecca's brother), Michael, for a quirky collection of folk songs, sea sh anties and even a bit of the Ice Age movie score. The youngsters are home f rom university and reunited with their dad for an eclectic musical musing. Don't miss this charming family collaboration - an interesting start to MiT H for the year.

KNOW BEF ORE YOU GO: MiTH takes place every second Wednesday at The Knoll Historic G uest Farm, Knoll Drive, Hilton. Doors open at 6pm and the music will kick o ff at 7pm. Entrance is R50 at the door. Bring your own booze. Food and soft drinks are available for sale.

DIRECTIONS TO MiTH: Take the N3 to Hi lton, take the Hilton turnoff and go South into the Village (away from Hilt on College). Travel 5,2km along Hilton Avenue (past two sets of traffic lig hts and Crossways Pub) and keep going straight as Hilton Avenue turns into Dennis Shepstone Drive. At the 5,2km mark, Knoll Drive will be on your righ t – the entrance to MiTH is the *second* entrance on your left into The Kno ll Historic Guest Farm.
