I am absolutely thrilled to tell you that our second load shedding mitigation trial was a success. We did it!Eskom’s exact response to Msunduzi’ s electricity department was: “We have reviewed the performance and run various calculations in conjunction with the Eskom specialist in the field. I am happy to advise that the Municipality is compliant”.
Thank you sincerely to everyone that participated (what a community!) and to Msunduzi Municipality for their partnership, particularly to Doray Vallo, (technical magician) who was the champion on this project. Grateful thanks go to Eskom for accommodating and supporting us, and to our media partners, the Witness: thank you for believing in our community as passionately as we do! So, we can avoid stage 1 and stage 2 load shedding in the future, all we have to do is give capacity like we did during the trial.
