The Artisan’s 2-4-2 competition on Friday was won by Mike and Janet Fairhurst with Trevor and Pam Spring in second place. Jo Boonzaaier and Barry Best won the third prize. Well done to all the winners and grateful thanks to Artisans, Wedgewood nougat, Valveright and John Pattrick for donating the prizes. On Saturday our green and club house were full as we hosted three league fixtures. The Ladies played Umgeni Waterfall and lost, despite some very close and exciting bowls. The Men’s second team came up against Alexander Park going down 9 – 4 to some excellent bowlers. Pride was restored by the fellows in the 3rd league team who beat the visitors from Mooi River by 10 – 3.
Due to league fixtures this coming Saturday, the Chicken Run will be played on Thursday 15th. Only two rinks will be used for league, so there will be room for many tabs-in games.
Other up-coming events include the Artisan’s Roll next Wednesday and the Terrace Trips on Thursday 22nd.
The Committee is busy finalising the budget for next year, and invoices for 2016 subs will be distributed within the next few weeks. Inevitably there will be an increase, but every effort is being made to keep it as small as possible.
