Hilton Bowling Club news 20 January 2016

Our members have obviously missed their bowling during the holidays, as we had good attendances last week. On both Tuesday and Thursday rain stopped play after about 16 ends. Saturday saw John Fowler, Richard Lister and Jill Bannatyne winning chocolates after beating their opponents by 19 shots.

 

The Artisans Pizza and Pasta 2-4-2 on Friday was won by Fred Palmer and Rina Tainton. Other prizes were won by Graham and Lynn Cameron, Hugh Barr and Ann Marnock, Ken Hooper and Pam Spring and Vince and Margie Seale. Well done to all these people and thanks for your support. Many thanks indeed to our sponsors; Artisans, Wedgewood and Valverite. Your continued interest in our club is greatly appreciated.

League recommences this Saturday. Two rinks will be used for practice on Thursday afternoon. League players should make every effort to attend. This arrangement will continue to the end of February. Other members are encouraged to put their tabs in as usual on Thursdays.

 

Please note that our AGM will be held on Thursday 11 February following “Bill’s Extra Bash” when we will play for vouchers carried over from the December “Bash”. All the annual trophies will be presented at the AGM. If you have a trophy please return it to the club as soon as possible.

 

A club needs a vibrant committee to stay alive. We need to fill some vacancies. Please volunteer for a position on YOUR committee. We would love to have an election for a change.
