Hilton Bowling Club 24 February 2016

After the AGM our new President is George Oldham. Dave Trickett, Thelma Mylne, Barry Collier and Chris Purchase remain on the committee and new members are Arthur Daugherty, Mike and Nina Guest and Fred Palmer. We thank all these people for their willingness to serve our club and wish them well in their term of office.

 

The ever popular Artisan’s Roll on Wednesday was cut short by rain after ten ends. Winners on a count-out were Hugh Barr, Bob Mitchell and Charles Carr. Runners-up were Mike Fairhurst, Bill Ralphs and Burnice Shaw. Best of the losers, Gert and Gwen Snyman and Rodney Braithewaite received vouchers from Nino’s at Quarry Spar. Ian Fyvie’s team scored the most touchers and won potatoes donated by John Fowler.

 

Thanks to Artisan’s Pizza and Pasta, Nino’s and John Fowler for the prizes.

 

League results from Saturday were as follows: The Men’s second team played Collegians away and went down by 5 – 8. At home the third side had a close game against Richmond but unfortunately lost 6 – 7.

 

The final round in the current league will be played on Saturday when the seconds host Maritzburg West and the third side travels to Umgeni Waterfall.

 

The list for entries to the Quarry Spar Prickett Cup to be played on 5 March will be on the board this week.
