STEPP donated a classroom to the Lions River Combined School this term. The classroom in the form of an edutainer, it is equipped with tables, chairs, educational games, books, burglar guards and other security and electricity.
Lions River School has moved from the Sappi forest on the Piggly Wiggly road into the heart of the community in a bid to keep the children off the roads and out of the isolated forests.
So far the school has managed to grow four classrooms in the Lions River community, which has seen enrolment go up. This in turn may eventually lead to a school being built right next to the community's homes.
Last year STEPP donated a library which was filled with books and works as a small classroom aswell.
