Take the N3 to Hilton, take the Hilton turnoff and go South into the Village (away from Hilton College). Travel 5,2km along Hilton Avenue (past two sets of traffic lights and Old Main Brewery) and keep going straight as Hilton Avenue turns into Dennis Shepstone Drive. At the 5,2km mark, Knoll Drive will be on your right – the entrance to MiTH is the *second* entrance on your left into The Knoll Historic Guest Farm.

Mikyle Naidoo is a self-taught musician who started playing during high school at Maritzburg College. Mikyle plays the guitar and is a solo artist. He feels that there is a more intimate connection with the audience when performing solo. He plays folky music with splashes of pop and blues here and there. His favourite musicians are John Mayer, Ed Sheeran and Jack Johnson.

Michaelhouse and St Anne schools team up again to perform one of musical theatre’s most interesting and complex works, Chess, which comes to Schlesinger Theatre, Michaelhouse from 13 – 16 August.

Grade 9 St Anne’s Diocesan College student, Rachel Lock was placed in Top 100 Juniors in the SA Maths Olympiad. Approximately 100 000 students wrote the First Round of the Olympiad, 22 000 of those made it through to the Second Round and Rachel was one of the top 100 Juniors who were chosen to write the Third Round.

Matric Drama Pupils from Grace College attended the IEB KZN Winter School at Thomas More on Sunday, 30 July. Pictured here are Cara Bailey and Nomathemba Mangele with actress Dorothy Anne Gould who addressed the pupils on South African Theatre history and Athol Fugard. In her career, Ms Gould performed the role of Hester in the set work “Hello and Goodbye” to great acclaim and she worked closely with Athol Fugard in other productions. Ms Gould engaged the audience with stories about her career and nuggets of information about the great man – Athol Fugard.

The first ever session of Speechcraft at Grace College took place on Monday 24 July. Speechcraft is an offshoot of Toastmasters International which is designed to develop better public speaking in young adults. This is an exciting cultural development and we look forward to the growth of the Speechcraft in the years to come. Well done to our group of Grade 11 pioneers!
